How To Play:
Hosting a Website
On your this website you can post your horses' profiles, pictures of your stables, blogs, events, and, of course, the all-important foal crops.
First things first, you need to pick a host for your website. There are many options out there, but for simple easy free site creating, weebly, is the best one to go for. It doesn't matter what site you pick; pick something you are familiar with and go from there.
There is no right or wrong way to design your website, but there are some general guidelines you should probably adhere to. After all, you want people to enjoy visiting your site, so make the experience as good for them as you can.
Key Factors for design: You may or may not follow the suggestions below but they are here as help.
> The color scheme
> Neutral colors for both font and background: blacks, whites, and their derivatives
> A sidebar or topbar with your main links on it .e.g : About, Staff, Gallery, Horse profiles
> Easy navigation through pages
> Clear and Clean fonts
Remember this website is going to be the bane of you equestrian center. This place will host pretty much everything you want to roleplay or show off in the Genus - Equus world. You do not have to create a website its not mandatory but its fun to do so. You may keep things simple and role-play on our forum or even just use your own page over here to keep a track of your equestrian center. Websites are normally consisting of Information, forms, sales and galleries to everyone so becareful what goes on them you never know what could happen.
Virtual Banking System
The Banking system can be found on the bottem left hand side of the page, it should be a gray tab with a money bag symbol please go here to either exchange, send, deposit any money.
The Virtual Banking System is a fun way to have more realism into the basis or role-playing here you may exchange money between members for various reasons, wether its for buying and selling of equine or sending money for shows, or even using services hosted by members. Once you have registered with us you get starting money of $50,000.
Loans are also another added bonus. If you are short on money our loans adviser and bank manager can set you up with a loan system in which you pay back on a long or short term basis for either one (1) real life week or one (1) real life month. The loan system will only be granted to members that have valid reason. Either you want to enter shows, by a horse or pay for a service. Please do note loans can take up to 24hrs to approve before you get them since its a very delicate task that is not handled lightly.
You can also earn more money by posting new threads, commenting on posts and creating polls!
How to Role-Play with Genus-Equus
Here you can learn how most of it works. You can create horses to their realistic breed standard. Fantasy horses such as unicorns or unrealistic horses will not be accepted. Horse in the real world all have breed standards in which people do need to follow in order to register them, so take it upon yourself to get into the knowledge base of what you are going to be using. You may create as many horses are you want but for realism purpose we do suggest you start off with atleast 4 horses, thats 2 mares and 2 stallions, this is so that when you breed them after or before they retire you will extend their bloodline by one generation. This helps to get you out of foundations and into a neat bloodline of any particular breed of choosing.
When selling and buying horses you will see a simple system and basic rules that are implied by members to suit their own centers.
- Only one copy of the foal/horse will be sent and must not be put up for mass download. Then the foal/horse must be removed from the sellers game. (backup files may be kept).
- You must not change the the foal/horse in anyway what so ever. Only mane and tail STYLES may be changed.
- IF foals do not turn out realistic then please edit them for realism, on the forum we have a great guide for this.
Just remember to choose your foal/horses new owner wisely since they will be keeping them, if there are any issues concerning a sale or purchase of any equine please contact a member of staff. If you have sold an equine and money is not sent and the horse is gone please ensure you get payment before sending your beloved, this helps keep your mind at ease that they where well payed for.
Stable Partnerships may also occur this is entirely up to you on how you run a Stable partnership. You can make the rules and you can partner or affiliate with whoever you want, IF they agree to either partnership with you or affiliate with you.
You may also board, lease any horse/s or any equine/s at various stables that offer the service, again the rules are entirely up to you so long they do not offend or become not so appealing to other members (E.G Once your horse boards with us it may not return to you at all) things like this will not be good on us or to you as a boarding service.
We run an age system that is very basic for everyone to follow (although its not mandatory and you may or may not follow) 1 real time month equals to 1 year. This system gives it as bit more realism and you can get your horses up and running in no time. Breeding horses can be fun but if you follow our aging system then your mare may only give birth to one foal per month from the age of 4.. Stallions can sire as many times as the breeders want but they must be 3 years or above to start breeding. So that is 3 real time months untill your stallion can breed from when he is born, thats also 4 real time months the mare can breed from when she is born. Mares may not be able to compete for atleast 2 weeks or a month after they have foaled.
